The Toughbook 52 Semi Rugged laptop from Panasonic is a great reason to throw out your old desktop computer. The CF-52 is known as the desktop replacement because it has everything your desktop PC has plus more. With its gorgeous 15.4-inch wide screen display, you no longer have to squint to see things on the screen. The Toughbook 52 (CF-52) is a little on the heavier size because of its large screen, but it comes with a briefcase like carrying handle making it convenient to carry around.

The Toughbook 52 is classified as a semi-rugged laptop computer. The Toughbook 52 (CF-52) can take a three foot drop, has a shock mounted and removable hard drive to protect your programs and data, a magnesium alloy case which provides protection against bumps and bangs, as well as a spill proof keyboard. The semi-rugged classification refers to the fact that this laptop is not sealed against the outdoor elements.

The Toughbook 52 (CF-52) just went through an upgrade and now comes standard with a faster 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, larger 160GB hard drive, and a DVD Multi Drive. One popular upgrade option is the System Bundle which includes an even faster 2.4GHz processor, higher resolution WUXGA display, 512MB VRAM and Bluetooth. Other upgrade options include a smart card reader, fingerprint reader, integrated broadband wireless for use with Sprint, Verizon and AT&T cards, additional memory for faster processing and an automobile power adapter.


Toughbook 52 models come loaded with Windows XP Professional, Panasonic has also included a Vista® Business upgrade in the box so that when you are ready to upgrade to Vista you can do so without the need to purchase an operating system license from Microsoft.
